It will serve as a strategic innovation hub for AI-enabled solutions in missile and drone defence, radar signal processing, and cyber defence

Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo on Thursday inaugurated a cutting-edge Deep Neural Network (DNN) laboratory at Krystellar Defence and Aerospace in Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar — the first facility of its kind in Odisha.

The advanced lab is aimed at accelerating research in key defence and aerospace technologies, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), artificial intelligence, electronic warfare, cognitive communications, AI-driven space surveillance, hypersonic threat detection, tracking, and situational awareness. It will serve as a strategic innovation hub for AI-enabled solutions in missile and drone defence, radar signal processing, and cyber defence.

Krystellar’s Founder and CEO, Uday Bhanu Das, highlighted the lab’s role as a critical enabler in developing indigenous, mission-ready AI technologies. The initiative aligns with the goals of 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat', fostering technological self-reliance in the defence sector.

Beyond research and development, the DNN Lab will offer specialised training programs and workshops for defence personnel, scientists, and engineers. It will also facilitate joint projects with DRDO laboratories, public sector aerospace units, and Indian defence tech innovators.

Commending Uday Bhanu Das for establishing a high-tech research and innovation centre in the state, Singh Deo urged young people to draw inspiration from his efforts and contribute to building a self-reliant India in defence and space technologies.
