The closing ceremony of the aerial and land live-fire drill of the China-Cambodia “Golden Dragon 2025” joint military exercise was held at the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces’ Military Police Training Centre on Thursday.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the drill scenario simulated a terrorist attack on a China-Cambodia joint venture, with hostages taken to a nearby hotel. The joint task force, comprising Chinese and Cambodian troops, responded with a series of coordinated urban counter-terrorism operations. These included multi-dimensional reconnaissance, airborne control, three-dimensional assault, hostage rescue, emergency medical aid, and final enemy elimination, spanning a total of 24 tactical manoeuvres.
The exercise showcased the two militaries’ ability to conduct complex urban operations and highlighted their growing interoperability. The forces were fully integrated into a unified joint command structure to simulate real-time operational coordination.
Following the drill, senior military officials from both countries reviewed the exercise's outcomes and awarded commendations to troops who demonstrated outstanding performance.
“Golden Dragon 2025” marks a significant step forward in defence cooperation, mutual trust, and operational capability between China and Cambodia, reinforcing joint preparedness and strengthening regional security collaboration.
