General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), visited the Gyalsung Academy at Jamtsholing, Bhutan, where he was briefed on the visionary national initiative spearheaded by His Majesty the Fifth King of Bhutan, focused on nation-building and youth empowerment.
During the visit, General Dwivedi praised the Academy’s efforts in shaping the next generation of Bhutanese youth and expressed deep appreciation for the world-class infrastructure already in place. He also acknowledged the detailed and thoughtfully designed plans for future development, which reflect His Majesty’s far-sighted vision for the country.
Highlighting the enduring and close ties between India and Bhutan, the Army Chief reaffirmed the Indian Army’s unwavering support for Bhutan’s transformative efforts. He emphasised that such initiatives not only strengthen national resilience but also serve as a model for empowering youth through education, discipline, and service.
The visit further reinforced the strategic and cultural partnership between the two nations, rooted in mutual respect and cooperation.
